Soos Creek 2007
Ciel du Cheval Vineyard Red Mountain 73% Cabernet Sauvignon 18% Cabernet Franc 9% Merlot 93 points Wine Enthusiast Only 275 cases produced of this gorgeous red. It was fermented in small open-top fermenters, punched down twice/day by hand, utilizing extended maceration of up to 32 days. It was then aged 18 months in 55% new French oak barrels. Saturated deep red color, brooding aromas of black currants and bitter chocolate, intense dark berry flavors, substantial but unobtrusive tannins with moderate acidity, rich texture with good depth and long aftertaste.

Roy Estate Proprietary Red Blend 2005
95 points Robert Parker This 17-acre vineyard on the eastern side of Napa is owned by Charles and Shirley Roy. Located in what is known as the Soda Canyon area, the vineyard was planted under the direction of Helen Turley, but today’s winemaker is Philippe Melka. They have two wines in their cuvee, a Bordeaux blend and, of course, their Cabernet Sauvignon. My favorite of the quartet of wines I tasted is the 2005 Proprietary Red, a blend of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon and 17% Merlot (1,500 cases produced). Of course, Soda Canyon is a southern Napa region and cool, much like its neighbor Stags Leap. This wine exhibits very Bordeaux-like notes of black currants, chocolate, underbrush, and some background oak. With beautiful sweet fruit, striking elegance, well-integrated acidity, and a dense ruby/purple color and medium to full body, this will be a long-lived wine. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2025. 88 points Wine Spectator Creamy oak offers a touch of dill and cedar in the aroma. The dried currant and berry flavors are smooth, rich and intense, offering depth and complexity. Needs time in the bottle, given its tight structure. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Best from 2010 through 2016. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 1,190 cases made. –JL

Yalumba Museum Reserve Muscat 375 ML NV
98 points Robert Parker The non-vintage Museum Reserve Muscat is exotic, full-bodied, rich, and sweet. It spent 7 years in wood, and was bottled from a solera system. This amber-hued, rich, unctuously-textured effort boasts luscious aromas and flavors of marmalade, figs, chocolate, melted caramel, toffee, and prunes. Once again, Australia proves this country is hard to beat when it comes to their fortified after-dinner wines, which still sell for a song.. This wine was reviewed several times with scores ranging from 92-98 points by Parker's Wine Advocate I describe this lucious wine as "cranberry honey".... ACU Wine Buyer

Loring Pinot Noir Rosellas Vineyard 2007
92 Points Wine Spectator Offers wonderful aromatics centered around plum and blueberry fruit. This is more delicate and refined on the medium to full-bodied palate, gaining depth and complexity on the finish, where the blueberry fruit shines. 750 cases made

Casa Lapostolle Cuvee Alexander Cabernet Sauvignon 2006
90 Points Wine Spectator Really juicy and ripe, with fleshy layers of sweet raspberry and boysenberry fruit riding along red licorice, fruitcake and a nicely embedded vanilla streak. Long, polished finish. Very tasty. Chilean climate is perfect for vine-growing. The vines have never been grafted. It was a revelation to discover that a good number of very old vines were still growing in the vineyards. These original cuttings were brought over from France in the last century and arrived in Chile before the dreaded phylloxera louse attacked the parent stock in Europe. As a result, the old vines in Chile are healthy and descendant from great French lineage. Apalta Vineyard, Colchagus Valley

Doyenne Syrah Grand Ciel 2005
92 points Wine Spectator Lithe and polished, this is bursting with cherry, blackberry and spice flavors, which ride elegantly over a layer of fine-grained tannins. The expressive finish persists impressively. 91 points Parker Large scaled and very aromatic, it offers up notes of smoke, meat, game, bacon, blueberry and blackberry jam
